Navjot Kaur Sidhu said the statement of Navjot Singh Sidhu on the Pulwama attack was distorted and played out of context. She was speaking after addressing a rally at Colony No. 4 in the Industrial Area, Phase 1, here today.

Navjot Kaur Sidhu, former MLA from Amritsar (East) and wife of Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, paid tributes to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack and said Navjot Singh Sidhu was standing with the nation and its Army.

Sidhu also spoke on the issues related to loan waiver to poor people and the problems of the colony dwellers. The Congress leader criticised the ruling party at the Centre for its inability to check wealthy loan defaulters from leaving the country and ditching the banks.

She asked people to get their children educated and send them to the armed forces of the country.

The meeting was organised by a local supporter, Shibu Yadav, in association with former Mayor Poonam Sharma and Indu Singla.

Muslims condemn Pulwama attack

Scores of people from the Muslim community gathered in Dhanas to show solidarity with the martyrs of the terrorist attack in Pulwama, here today. People condemned the terror attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 jawans. They raised anti-Pakistan slogans like “Pakistan murdabad, Hindustan jindabad”. After the ‘namaz’, they held a candlelight march holding placards in Dhanas. Janab Malana Munazir Hussain Naqvi said: “If there will be an attack on Hindustan, we will be first to sacrifice our lives and every child of our community will be ready to die for the nation. Today, Pakistan is killing our people through terrorism.”
