Nidhi, Hassan bag carrom gold

CHANDIGARH: Nidhi Gupta and Mohd. Hassan won the women’s and men’s title, respectively, on the concluding day of the 28th Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament at St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45.

Nidhi Gupta and Mohd. Hassan won the women’s and men’s title, respectively, on the concluding day of the 28th Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament at St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45. 

In the women’s final, Nidhi proved her mettle against Tuba 25-1 23-25 22-19. In the semifinals, Tuba defeated Maryam 25-0 16-15 and Nidhi defeated Farhin 20-25 23-17 23-12.

Hassan won the title by defeating Mohd. Talib 25-8 16-17 25-9. In semifinals, Hasan defeated Md. Sarhan 25-0 25-4 and Talib beat Gagandeep Singh 25-10 25-17. In the boys’ junior final, Sahil Thakur defaeted Gopal Kakkar 7-9 21-1 21-4. Chirag claimed the thrid position by defeating Mayank Gupta 21-9 21-13
