CHANDIGARH: A Nigerian, who used to supply drugs in night clubs and discotheques, has been arrested with cocaine.

A Nigerian, who used to supply drugs in night clubs and discotheques, has been arrested with cocaine.

The accused, identified as Uri Bri, was arrested after 11.08 grams of cocaine was recovered from him. The police had received a tip-off on the accused, who was then nabbed near the Sector 39/40/55/56 roundabout.

Police sources said the accused claimed to be 19 years old. He used to come from Delhi to supply drugs to youths visiting clubs for parties, said a police source.

The police said some local drug peddlers also purchased drugs from him. “The call detail records (CDR) of the accused are being verified,” the police added.

The police are yet to verify the antecedents of the accused and that where he was residing.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. An investigation into the case has been initiated.

The accused was produced in court today and has been sent to two-day police remand.
