Sanika Jadhav, a student of MS (Pharm) from the Department of Pharmaceutics, NIPER, cornered glory by winning a special appreciation award, “Best Presentation Award”, worth 50,000 Russian Rubles at the second Russian Inter-University GxP summit, which was held in Russia from July 2 to 7.
Jadhav was among three students who had gone to Russia on an invitation to attend the summit on pharmaceuticals.
According to the NIPER authorities, Sanika Jadhav’s research on ‘Development of nanocrystalline solid dispersion (NCSD) of curcuminoids using nanoCrySP technology’ with Prof Arvind Bansal, Department of Pharmaceutics, and NanoCrySP technology is a patented, bottom up technology developed by Dr AK Bansal lab to generate nanocrystals of molecules having poor water solubility.
“Curcuminoids are having widespread therapeutic effects so development of their nanocrystals has opened new translational avenues in the research field,” said the authorities, adding that this technology has been extensively used for the development of nanocrystals of curcuminoids obtained from natural source, turmeric.
