Despite financial crisis in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, councillors and officers are ready to go for another study tour. While reports of the tours conducted earlier were lying in files, councillors are planning to visit six cities this time. Instead of going in one group, the councillors will go in 6 groups with two officers in each group to study the best practices of sanitation. One of the councillors said the MC had planned several new initiatives to make Chandigarh No. 1 in sanitation in the country this time and the visits would definitely help them in achieving the goal.

Officials restless!

Several officials of various departments in a first-of-its-kind workshop on the POCSO Act at NIPER, Mohali, were seen restless as they have to sit for hours there. Reason: Their top brass, Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Mohali Deputy Commissioner, attended the entire programme, which lasted for around five hours. “I know the restlessness of certain senior officials also who later came to me and complained in a way by stating that the programme was good, but bit long,” said the Mohali Deputy Commissioner in a smiling manner.
