NRI found dead in Sec 35 hotel

CHANDIGARH: A 40-year-old NRI, a software engineer, was found dead at a hotel in Sector 35 this afternoon.

A 40-year-old NRI, a software engineer, was found dead at a hotel in Sector 35 this afternoon. The police have ruled out any foul play in the incident.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Charandeep Singh. He was a resident of the USA.

The police said the victim was staying at a hotel in Sector 35 and was supposed to check out in the afternoon. However, when the victim did not respond to calls, the hotel staff checked the room and found the victim lying on the floor.

The police were informed about the incident, who visited the spot.

The victim’s kin, who stay at Shivalik Vihar in Nayagaon, were informed about the incident, who reached the spot. The body was shifted to the mortuary at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16. The police said the victim was staying in the hotel since September 19.

Inquest proceedings have been initiated at the Sector 36 police station. The autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.

The police said preliminary investigations suggested that there was no foul play in the incident. “The body didn’t bear any injury marks,” said a police source.
