One more tests positive for swine flu

ZIRAKPUR:A 49-year-old resident of Zirakpur was tested positive for swine flu.

Zirakpur, February 16 

A 49-year-old resident of Zirakpur was tested positive for swine flu. He is undergoing treatment at the GMCH-32, Chandigarh. His condition is stated to be stable. The aealth authorities said the patient did not have travel history.

He had complained of fever and sore throat on January 28. He was taken to a private clinic in Zirakpur for treatment. 

The patient was shifted to the GMCH-32 on February 10 after his condition deteriorated. The test report of his throat swab from the PGI, which became available on February 12, confirmed H1N1 infection, added sources.

Meanwhile, his family of eight has been administered the required medicine. They were examined by doctors. 

Health officials said, “According to information, patient’s condition is improving. We have asked the hospital authorities to regularly share his details,” they added.

Of the five swine flu patients tested positive from Zirakpur this year, two have already succumbed to the deadly virus this year.
