People forced to pay for water tankers

CHANDIGARH: Residents were forced to pay for water tankers as the city witnessed a water crisis for the third consecutive day today due to work undertaken at the Kajauli waterworks to bring in additional water.

Residents were forced to pay for water tankers as the city witnessed a water crisis for the third consecutive day today due to work undertaken at the Kajauli waterworks to bring in additional water. Besides southern sectors, residents of northern sectors also faced a water shortage.

Residents of Sector 2 said they did not get water for two days. One of the residents said he called up on the numbers provided by the MC for water tankers, but failed to get any reply. He said he had to hire a tanker after paying from his pocket.

The MC completed the work at Kajauli and the supply will resume tomorrow.
