The police on Friday conducted checking of various paying guest (PG) accommodations around Kharar in connection with security arrangements regarding the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. Various teams under the supervision of the Kharar city Station House Officer (SHO), Inspector Kanwaljit Singh, checked students living in PG houses located in Kharar and the surrounding areas.
The police parties visited Nirvana Green, Gresion Society, Shivajot Enclave and the Khanpur areas to verify antecedents of students and others living in at paying guest accommodations. Identity cards of students were checked and their luggage was searched by police personnel.
The police also asked owners to get police verification done of all students living in their paying guests and record full information about them in a register.
