CHANDIGARH: Prof RK Ratho, Head of the Department of Virology, PGIMER, has been awarded the Dr SC Agarwal Oration Award in the recently concluded 43rd national conference of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists (IAMM), Mumbai.

Prof RK Ratho, Head of the Department of Virology, PGIMER, has been awarded the Dr SC Agarwal Oration Award in the recently concluded 43rd national conference of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists (IAMM), Mumbai.

The award was conferred on him for his contribution in the field of medical virology in India, especially in the area of diagnosis and immunopathogenesis of dengue, JE, chikungunya, zika, viral Hepatitis-E virus and H1N1 viral infections. He is also the recipient of the Fellow of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Basel, Switzerland.

During the conference, he spoke on “Viral Hepatitis-E: Achievements and Challenges Ahead”. — TNS
