Play highlights plight of women

CHANDIGARH:A Hindi play, 'Ji, Jaisi Aapki Marzi', was staged by Theatre House Group artistes at Tagore Theatre here on Saturday.



Chandigarh, February 16

A Hindi play, 'Ji, Jaisi Aapki Marzi', was staged by Theatre House Group artistes at Tagore Theatre here on Saturday. Written by Nadira Babbar and directed by Nitu Sharma, the play depicted the plight of women in rural as well as urban areas.

The play revolved around everyday issues of women ranging from child marriage, rape, gender discrimination and highlighted how women with strong willpower overcame their problems. The play showed the internal depression that women had to go through dealing with problems that are made by society and how she got up and faced the problems with courage. Guest of honour Kidar Nath Kidar, a poet, and Madhu Bansal blessed the artistes.

Young poets enrapture literature lovers

The Theatre For Theatre, in collaboration with Haryana Sahitya Akademi, presented a Yuva Kavi Sammelan in the ongoing TFT drama festival at Navrang Theatre here on Saturday. — OC
