Poorvi, Suryanshi win; Ajay triumphs

Poorvi Bhatt of Uttar Pradesh outplayed eighth seed Suryanshi Tanwar of Haryana in straight sets to clinch the girls’ U-16 title on the concluding day of the CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Complex, Sector 10, here, on Friday. Poorvi won 7-5 6-0. 

Suryanshi, however, avenged her defeat with a 6-1 6-2 win over Poorvi in girls’ U-18 final.

In the boys’ U-18 category, Lakshya Gupta of Uttar Pradesh downed Ajay Singh 6-4 6-0 in the final. However, second seed Ajay won the boys’ U-16 title after beating sixth seed Rohan Mittal 6-2 6-2.
