PSPCL collects Rs 100 crore in a day through online mode

PATIALA: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) collected around whopping Rs100 crore through RTGS mode on July 13, which is a very remarkable collection through digital means in the history of PSPCL and one of the largest at all-India level for a single day digital collection by any power utility.

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) collected around whopping Rs100 crore through RTGS mode on July 13, which is a very remarkable collection through digital means in the history of PSPCL and one of the largest at all-India level for a single day digital collection by any power utility.

In a release issued here, PSPCL, Chairman and Managing Director, Baldev Sran said it had been made mandatory for the bills exceeding Rs 3 lakh to use online modes such as net banking, credit card, debit card, RTGS/ NEFT etc. For all other consumers, digital/RTGS facility is optional.

"Under new bill payment techniques, bill payment receipt is available online at the PSPCL website. Payment records will always remain there on online server and bill receipt could be downloaded at any time. There is no need for consumers to visit PSPCL offices for intimation of bill payments via digital/RTGS modes," he said.

Sran said this was a big step towards making things easy for consumers of industry, business, government departments, commercial establishments. He said now electricity consumers in the state could easily pay their electricity bills at their convenience through any bank branch or their corporate banking site and thus could save their precious time from long queues at cash counters.

Sran said, "PSPCL has provided various facilities of digital payments such as debit card, credit card, net banking, Paytm, RTGS, BBPS etc. PSPCL will make all out efforts to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the business, industry and the consumers by undertaking various such digital initiatives. Our valuable electricity consumers will continue to get a further range of new and quick alternatives of bill payments in future too, which would definitely give them an enriched, rapid, smooth and trouble-free experience of bill payment".
