Posters reading ‘Join RSS - Ek Kadam Sangh Ki Aur’ are dotting the official notice boards on the campus of Panjab University, inviting disdain from the members of several student parties.

The poster, which PUCSC president Chetan Chaudhary calls an ‘advertisement’, also bears the names and numbers of persons who could be contacted by those interested in joining the RSS.

Dean University Instructions (DUI) Prof Shankarji Jha, who is also the officiating Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, said he was not aware of the posters being stuck on the campus.

Alleging a security glitch, Chetan Chaudhary said, “These posters have been stuck across the varsity campus, on all of its notice boards which are meant for official communication and not chaperoning RSS’s or any other student party’s agenda. This poster is a clear RSS advertisement,” he said.

Chaudhary has also affirmed that he will be drafting a letter to the varsity authorities, bringing the issue to their notice. “I’ll submit a letter to the DSW. If, in case, they still don’t get the posters removed, we will call other student parties and remove them ourselves,” he added.

Amandeep of PSU Lalkaar said, “ From the VC to wardens and other officials, the puppets of RSS are relentlessly trying to use PU as a ground to propagate sangh’s ideology and as a lab to implement its saffron agenda in education. RSS’s posters on official notice boards of PU are unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, DSW Prof Emanuel Nahar, said, “No such poster has been put up at the Student Centre. Also, the hostel wardens were already directed that no poster be put up on the notice board without their permission.”
