Punjab ex-IG duped of Rs 4 cr, three booked

MOHALI: Three builders have been booked for duping a former Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Punjab of around Rs 4 crore.

Three builders have been booked for duping a former Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Punjab of around Rs 4 crore. On the complaint of IG Dharam Singh (retd), a case under Sections 420, 406 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered against Manu Raj, Prem Lal, both residents of Chandigarh, and Rudra Kumar of Jharkhand at the Dera Bassi police station.

According to the police, the trio had duped the former cop on the pretext of selling him a house in Sector 21 in Chandigarh for which they took around Rs 4 crore. But they neither returned the money nor provided him a house.

The police said further probe was on in the case.
