Punjab defeated Chandigarh by 17 runs in a rain-affected Women’s Senior T20 Trophy match in Cuttack today.
Opting to bat, Punjab scored 47/2 after the match was reduced to six-overs-a-side due to rain. Zaman Akhter hit a quick-fire 18-ball 29, while Babita Meena made 16 runs.
Needing to score eight runs per over for victory, Chandigarh innings failed to gather momentum as Priyanka Guleria (4), Monika Pandey (0) and Nandani Sharma (3) fell in quick succession.

Nandani were run out, Monika fell prey to Sunita Rani as Chandigarh could only manage 30/3 in the allotted overs. Skipper Amanjot remained unbeaten on 17. — TNS
