Punjabi varsity scholar’s project awarded in Italy

PATIALA:Dr Manjinder Singh, an assistant professor at Chitkara University and former research scholar at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research (DPSDR), Punjabi University, has won the award for best poster at the European Chemistry Conference-2018, held in Italy recently.

Dr Manjinder Singh, an assistant professor at Chitkara University and former research scholar at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research (DPSDR), Punjabi University, has won the award for best poster at the European Chemistry Conference-2018, held in Italy recently. 

His research work was adjudged best among 40 presentations on various topics of research in chemistry on the occasion.

He said his project was funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and conducted under Dr Om Silakari, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research (DPSDR), was aimed at preparing medicine for patients with Alzheimer’s decease. “We have found compounds available in fruits that help retain information. I will now work on the compounds to find out their further effects.”
