Chandigarh, December 1
The Panjab University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) has raised concern over the delay in the meeting of selection committees for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) cases, which were earlier fixed for September 28, but were postponed due to a special meeting of the Senate.
Prof Rajesh Gill, PUTA president, said the association would stage a protest if PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar did not pay heed to the association’s demand.
“In this regard, it has been submitted that more than two months have passed, but the meeting has not been held till date. The delay over the issue is causing great anxiety among the teachers concerned, who have been patiently waiting ever since their interviews/selection committee meetings were cancelled at the last minute. PUTA is being approached by these teachers every day, with no clue whatsoever as to when these meetings are going to be fixed again,” stated PUTA in its letter to Prof Kumar.
Prof Gill wrote: “You would recall, that undersigned had requested your good self personally, during the last meeting of the Syndicate on November 9, to fix the meeting of selection committees of all such cases at the earliest and you assured that it would be done very soon. However, till date, the issue is lying unattended.” — TNS
