Quack nabbed in Hallo Majra

CHANDIGARH: Cracking the whip on persons practicing quackery, the authorities on Friday nabbed a quack at Hallo Majra village.

Cracking the whip on persons practicing quackery, the authorities on Friday nabbed a quack at Hallo Majra village.

The action was taken by Arjun Sharma, SDM (East), UT, on receiving complaints from area residents.

Acting on the complaints, the SDM (East) directed a team of doctors to conduct an inspection of the documents and premises of the said person.

The team under the SDM supervision reported that the documents were grossly out of order. Subsequently, acting under Section 133 of the CrPC, the SDM barred the doctor from carrying the trade as it was harmful to public health and safety. The SDM has also ordered the Health Department to initiate action against the quack immediately.
