New Delhi/Mohali, Dec 9

Congress president Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be in Mohali, Punjab, tomorrow to relaunch the Hindi version of the National Herald publication.

The relaunch of ‘Navjivan’, a Hindi newspaper by the Associated Journals Limited (AJL), will take place during a ceremony at the GMADA Sports Complex. A commemorative publication to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi will also be released on the occasion.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh would also be present on the occasion.

A programme planned by the party was postponed as Rahul Gandhi has to return to Delhi tomorrow evening to attend the all-party opposition meeting being held on the initiative of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

Meanwhile, security has been stepped up in the town for Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh’s visit.

SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal said all security arrangements have been put in place. “Policemen will be deployed on the route to be taken by the VIPs early in the morning. Police teams have already been stationed at the venue,” he added.

The SSP said the dignitaries would arrive around 11 am and remain there for nearly an hour.
