The mother of a 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by a juvenile and found six months pregnant, has moved an abortion plea in the court. Three weeks ago, the girl was found pregnant and last week, the police had arrested the juvenile in the case. The court will take up the application on Thursday.

The girl was allegedly raped multiple times over a period spanning a few months. After the rape survivor’s parents recorded their statements and she was medically examined, the juvenile was arrested and sent to a juvenile home.

According to the complaint, the parents of the minor girl alleged that the boy lived in their neighbourhood a few years ago and knew them. The girl stated that his mother had died and when his father would go to work, the accused would take her to his house and rape her. This had been happening for a few months.

Her mother noticed that her menstrual cycle had stopped and when she questioned her, the girl said she was pregnant after having been raped by the accused. She took the survivor to the hospital and informed the police. The police got her medical examination conducted and registered a case under sections of rape and the POCSO Act.
