Contractual employees led by the Contractual Employees Action Committee today staged a protest outside Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The protesters are demanding regularisation of their services for the past several years.

He said now even Budget session had come to an end, but the government had done nothing.

He said they were working for the past 10 to 12 years, but neither the previous government nor the present government had done anything.

CM’s OSD Jagdeep Singh Sandhu met the protesters and received their charted of demands.

Later a meeting between the leaders of the committee and cabinet sub-committee members, including Health Minister Brahm Mohindra, Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Finance Minister Brahm Mohindra, was held.

The group of ministers assured the protesting employees that the government was working on the Bill. It was in the advanced stage and would be brought to the session soon.
