Road mishap victim succumbs to injuries

ZIRAKPUR:A 21-year-old youth succumbed to his injuries while two others sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding on was allegedly hit by a car near Chhat village on Thursday night.

A 21-year-old youth succumbed to his injuries while two others sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding on was allegedly hit by a car near Chhat village on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Suraj, a resident of Issapur village near Dera Bassi.

The police said the incident took place when Suraj, along with his two cousins, was heading towards Dera Bassi on a motorcycle. When they reached near the Chhat traffic lights, a rashly driven car hit their two-wheeler.

The victims were rushed to the GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where Suraj was declared brought dead. His cousins, Ganesh and Ramesh, were admitted to the hospital where they were undergoing treatment, said the police.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the car driver under relevant sections of the IPC at the Zirakpur police station. Further probe is on.
