The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) will soon issue notices to more than 100 commercial property owners for their failure to deposit arrears worth Rs 500 crore.

According to the records of the HSVP, these arrears include extension fee, enhancement fee, compounding fee and other charges that the commercial property owners have failed to deposit during the past few years.

It is pertinent to mention here that the HSVP had earlier prepared a list of about 200 commercial property owners who had failed to pay arrears to the tune of Rs 3,500 crore. However, as this record was more than 5 years old, Estate Officer Ashutosh Rajan had directed officials to prepare a new list after scrutinising the documents in the records.

As per a report submitted by the accounts branch of the HSVP, the commercial property owners have already deposited Rs 3,000 crore during the past five years and they are yet to pay the remaining Rs 500 crore. The HSVP will soon issue notices to them to recover the amount after seeking approval from the HSVP administrator.

There are more than 100 owners of various properties, including booth, shop-cum-flat, shop-cum-office, double-storey shops, clinical sites and institutional sites. After sending notices, the HSVP will go through the records of residential properties and notices will be sent to owners of residential properties to recover the arrears if any. The estate officer has already issued directions to the accounts branch in this regard and asked them to prepare a list of defaulters.

Estate Officer Ashutosh Rajan said notices would be sent to the commercial property owners who had to pay arrears more than Rs 500 crore to the HSVP. He said if the owners failed to deposit the amount, the HSVP would send notices for resumption of the plots.

He said the accounts branch had also been directed to prepare a list of residential property owners who had failed to deposit their arrears and notices would be sent to them also.
