Sec 52 man loses Rs11K

CHANDIGARH: A sum of Rs 11,000 was fraudulently withdrawn from the account of a Sector 52 resident.

Chandigarh, August 14

A sum of Rs 11,000 was fraudulently withdrawn from the account of a Sector 52 resident.

In his complaint to the police, Varinder stated that on August 10, two transactions were made from his SBI account. “While Rs 1,000 was withdrawn from an ATM in Kajheri, Sector 52, Rs 10,000 was withdrawn from an ATM in Sector 42 even though the ATM card was with me,” he said. Varinder said after he came to know about the transactions, he got his ATM card blocked. “This is shocking as I never shared any information related to my bank account with anyone,” he said.

A complaint at the public window of the UT Police was made, following which a probe has been initiated. — TNS
