Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh, taekwondo under-19 boys’ team brought laurels  to their alma mater when they bagged the runners up title of the championship. Bhavan Vidyalaya

Chandigarh: Students of Bhavan Vidyalaya special cell celebrated Navratras here on Monday. Girls were dressed in traditional ethnic suits and wearing colourful bangles while boys wore kurta-pyjamas on the occasion. The children danced on the ‘Dandia’ beats. It was a day full of fun and frolic and loads of enjoyment. TNS

Satluj Public School

Panchkula: A CBSE capacity development programme on re-modelled assessment was held at Satluj Public School, Sector 4. Resource person Anupama Sharma conducted the programme under the guidance of CBSE Centre of Excellence in-charge Dr Shweta Singh. Sixty teachers from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh learnt about various techniques and assessment tools to enhance the learning of students. TNS

DAV Senior Public School

Surajpur: Two days capacity building workshop for science teachers at primary and secondary level was held at DAV Senior Public School. The workshop was held under the aegis of DAVCMC  director Nisha Peshin and regional officer-cum- training coordinator Madhu Bahl. The workshop emphasised on time management, effective educational methods and importance of teaching aids in the teaching and learning process. Resource persons and participant teachers were awarded certificates on the occasion. TNS

DAV Public School

Chandigarh: Teachers of the kindergarten section from all DAV institutions of the Chandigarh cluster participated in an elementary education development workshop  held at DAV Public School, Sector 8-C. The session started with the topic “How to make EVS interesting”. Environmental concepts can be learnt mainly through observation and exploration as science explains ‘How’ and ‘Why’ of things. Post lunch, a session on “Cognitive development” was taken up. The workshop concluded with distribution of certificates to all participants. TNS

Govt Model High School

Chandigarh: In the state-level role play competition organised by the SIE, Sector 32, Chandigarh, the team of Government Model High School, Sector 38-West, bagged the first prize. The role play competition was based on the topic “Charms and challenges of adolescence”. The play was written and directed by music mistress Shalini Sharma. School headmaster Rajesh Sharma congratulated the music teacher and students and appreciated their efforts. TNS

Panchkula:  Swami Yagyamuni Ji, a scholar accompanied by an Arya Samaj activist Ramesh Bawa, interacted with students of Class IX and X of DAV School here on Monday. Swamiji elaborated on the need to stay focused to achieve the desired objectives in life. Students asked questions from Swamiji during interaction. TNS
