Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman who was sitting outside her house in Sector 40 today.

According to the police, the victim, Pratibha Jain (46), was sitting outside her house when the miscreants arrived on a motorcycle. The miscreant riding the motorcycle got down from the bike and snatched the victim’s gold chain, while the other suspect waited for him. The duo then escaped from the spot.

The victim raised the alarm. However, by the time her family and neighbours came out, the snatchers had escaped from the spot.

The police were informed, who rushed to the spot. They scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. In one of the cameras installed outside a house, the miscreants are seen arriving on the motorcycle. They waited for a minute before striking.

The police said the miscreants managed to take half of the chain as the remaining half fell on the road outside the house. A case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station.
