CHANDIGARH:St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 32, by 87 runs in the ongoing inter-school cricket championship for U-17 boys here on Wednesday.

St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 32, by 87 runs in the ongoing inter-school cricket championship for U-17 boys here on Wednesday. 

Batting first, St Joseph’s School scored 128/6 in the allotted 20 overs with Aryan hitting a brisk 31 and Bhavya adding a useful 27 to the total. Rahul claimed a couple of wickets for GMSSS, Sector 32, while Ankit took one wicket. 

Needing to score at 6.45 runs per over for victory, GMSSS boys were all out for 41 runs. Nihar claimed three wickets, while Aniket accounted for two GMSSS batsmen.

In the second match, Chitkara International School, Sector 25, registered a 17-run win over KB DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7. 

Chasing Chitkara’s total of 125 runs, DAV boys managed only 95/5 in the allotted overs. — TNS
