St Soldier’s footballers triumph

CHANDIGARH:Hosts St Soldier International School, Sector 28, defeated Chitkara International School, Sector 25, 5-4 on penalties to win the boys’ U-19 title in the CBSE Cluster XVII Football Tournament.

Hosts St Soldier International School, Sector 28, defeated Chitkara International School, Sector 25, 5-4 on penalties to win the boys’ U-19 title in the CBSE Cluster XVII Football Tournament. 

Shobhit Bhandari and Kapil of St Soldier School were adjudged the best player and the best goalkeeper respectively. Sajan of Chitkara School was named the best defender.

In the boys’ U-17 category, Chitkara School humbled Bhai Nand Lal Public School, Anandpur Sahib, 2-0 claim the title. 

Gurnoor Singh of Chitkara School was adjudged the best player, while his teammate Rahul was named the best goalkeeper. Harmanjit Singh of Bhai Nand Lal School was awarded the best defender trophy. 

A total of 73 teams participated in the championship.
