A group of 12 girls, along with their teachers, has successfully completed their 230-km cycling expedition here.
During their three-day event, which was organised by Yadavindra Public School (YPS), students visited a number of famous gurdwaras to create awareness about Sikh cultural heritage of Punjab.
Officials of the school said sports had been an integral part of the school and expeditions played an important role in preparing students for rigours of life. One of the teachers said the purpose of the expedition was to inculcate the spirit of adventure in students and to spread the message of girl power.
In the past also, students of YPS completed mountaineering and cycling expeditions.
One of the teachers said, “Cycling has emerged as a great fitness sport, which also contributes in preserving environment.”
