Teachers are the role models for students. They must instil moral values among students, which they are lacking, so that they may become good citizens and take forward our society and nation as its destiny is shaped in classrooms. 

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon while addressing a function at Sant Namdev Kanya Mahavidyalaya Girls College, Bassi Pathana, today.

He called upon students to achieve something in life they should work with dedication, honesty and sincerely. “Moreover, there is no shortcut for success and hard work is the only key to success,” he added. 

While appreciating the role of girls in the present scenario he said they had outnumbered boys in various fields and in academic sphere. “Girl students always perform better than boys,” he added.

College manager Nakesh Jindal highlighted its achievements in academic, sports and cultural field. He said the college management always stressed on inculcating moral values.

A play “Mera Parvaj Ki Hai” written by college Principal, Dr Kulbir Kaur, was staged and a cultural programme was organiaed on the occasion. The DC gave away prizes to winners and outstanding students.
