Nabha, July 15

Two weeks after the thieves broke into an anganwari centre and decamped with a fan, weighing machines and utensils, besides centre record, the Sadar Police station finally registered the case on Saturday.

Complainant Mandeep Kaur, a resident of Chathe village, who works at the anganwari centre located in a primary school in Mudella near Chathe, told the police that when she visited the centre on the morning of July 2, she found a fan, two weighing machines, utensils and centre record missing.

Mandeep Kaur said they had been making rounds of the police station to get the copy of the FIR which was to be submitted to the higher authorities. She said the police was not giving the copy of the FIR on one pretext or the other.

The Sadar police station registered a case against unidentified persons under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC. SHO Bikar Singh said the delay was due to the investigations in the matter. —TNS
