Chandigarh, October 17
Just about a week after a petition was filed by shopkeepers demanding parking space in Sector 19-C market, three of the petitioners today claimed that their signatures were obtained after concealing the facts.
Appearing before Justice Jitendra Chauhan’s Bench, the petitioners stated that their signatures were obtained on a ‘vakalatnama’ by the market vice-president, Jhumar Mal, by concealing the intended purpose of filing the present petition.
The petitioners presented self-attested copies of their identity cards while submitting that they do not wish to pursue the matter.
Justice Chauhan asserted: “In view of the prayer made, the names of the petitioners are deleted from the array of parties. The Registry is directed to amend the memo of parties accordingly.”
Fixing October 26 as the next date of hearing, the Bench directed petitioner number one and Jhumar Mal to appear in person before the court. The order was directed be conveyed to them through the Civil Judge (Senior Division), Chandigarh.
