Three booked in cheating cases

CHANDIGARH: Two cheating cases have been registered in the city.



Chandigarh, August 11

Two cheating cases have been registered in the city. Ajay Sood, who is residing in California, USA, had complained against Sachin Yadav of Gurugram and Mukesh Thakur of Madhya Pradesh.

He stated that an amount of Rs 1.33 crore was debited from his account maintained with the Bank of India, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

The accused persons had presented two fake cheques with the Manesar branch for Rs 98 lakh and the other cheque was presented at Mahid Pur in MP for Rs 35 lakh. However, the original cheques are lying with the complainant. A cheating and forgery case was registered in Sector 17.

The second case was registered on the complaint of Nishant Gupta, a resident of Mani Majra. He alleged that Joginder of Zirakpur, Punjab, cheated him of Rs 12 lakh. He stated that he was dealing with Joginder regarding sale/purchase of a flat in Modern Housing Complex, Mani Majra. On his complaint, a case of cheating has been registered in Mani Majra. — TNS
