Three held for thefts in Zirakpur market

ZIRAKPUR: The police arrested three persons in connection with theft cases and recovered seven LCDs from their possession on Wednesday night.

The police arrested three persons in connection with theft cases and recovered seven LCDs from their possession on Wednesday night. The accused have been identified as Mann Singh, Raj Kumar, both residents of Zirakpur, and Vijay Kumar, a resident of Bihar.

The police said the accused were arrested by a police team at a naka laid near the Gazipur road here on Wednesday night.

The accused, who were coming towards the Zirakpur side with electronics goods, were stopped at the naka and asked to show documents. Neither the accused could give any satisfactory reply nor show any documents related to goods to the police.

Later, the accused confessed that they had stolen goods from the Zirakpur main bazaar in April. The police have registered a case against the three accused under various Sections of the IPC. Further investigation is on, the police added.
