Three killed in road accidents

PATIALA:In the first incident, a person was killed on Saturday at around 9 am, near focal point, when a pick-up truck hit his two-wheeler.

As many as three persons were killed in different accidents.

In the first incident, a person was killed on Saturday at around 9 am, near focal point, when a pick-up truck hit his two-wheeler. He died on the spot. The deceased, identified as Sant Ram, was the resident of Darshan Colony. The police informed that victim was on his way to home when the accident took place. 

The driver of the truck managed to flee the spot leaving behind his vehicle. Jyoti (35), wife of the deceased, filed a complaint to the police after which a case was registered against an unidentified person.

In the second incident, a man was killed after his bike hit a standing car near Mehar Nagar Colony on Saturday at around 5.30 pm. The police informed that the injured was taken to Government Rajindra Hospital where he died during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Mangal Singh, resident of Dugaal Khurd village.

Meanwhile, a man was killed when speeding car hit two-bike borne persons near Ghaggar Sarai village around 9.15 pm on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Shamsher Singh (30), resident of Ghaggar Sarai village. Shamsher was returning to his village from Rajpura on motorcycle along with his cousin when the accident happended. Shamsher Singh died on the spot while his cousin Gurdeep Singh, a resident of Basma village, sustained injuries. 

Following the incident, the police registered have registered a case against unknown driver of a vehicle at Shambu police station.
