As part of its student-diversity initiative ‘Beyond Boundaries’, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women played host to students from Sambhota Tibetan School, Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh.
As many as 28 students, along with three mentors, visited the campus to study various academic avenues open to them after their intermediate school.
They were shown science laboratory facilities, language lab, interior designing studio, sports complex, biogas plant, Rishi Vatika, botanical garden, vermicomposting unit and science museum.
As the visiting team was given seed balls made by the college’s Botany Department, they appreciated the innovative, sustainable initiative, which is a first-of-its-kind among all academic institutions, to develop a green cover over dry wastelands.
Principal Dr Nisha Bhargava lauded the efforts of the organising team and motivated the young visitors to contribute to the sustainability of the planet Earth and wished them success in their future endeavours.
