Mohali, November 30
A woman riding a scooter died when a tipper ran over her at Dholewala Chowk in Phase VI here this evening.
The victim has been identified as Rani (36), a resident of Sector 55. The woman was going from the Kamla market to Sector 56 when the tipper coming from the Chandigarh side hit her scooter. Her head was crushed under the wheels of the tipper. The tipper driver escaped from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital at Phase VI where doctors declared her brought dead.
A case has been registered against the unidentified driver of the tipper at the Phase 1 police station. The vehicle has been impounded. — TNS
