Two booked for stealing property papers

MOHALI:Two persons have been booked on the charges of stealing registration papers of property belonging to a USA-based NRI.



Mohali, April 20 

Two persons have been booked on the charges of stealing registration papers of property belonging to a USA-based NRI.

The accused are Rupinder Singh and Harjinder Kaur, both from Bassi Pathana. Harjinder Kaur is daughter-in-law of the complainant Manjit Singh, a USA-based NRI, who alleged in his complaint at NRI wing, here, that the accused was a friend of his daughter-in-law and the duo stole registration papers of his immovable property, including a house at Bassi Pathania as well as plots.

Manjit Singh alleged that Harjinder Kaur was the wife of his younger son. Apart from property documents, the accused had also taken passport of the complainant’s son and Rs 2.10 lakh and intended to grab the house.

A case under Sections 380, 506 and 120 B of the IPC has been registered at the NRI police station, here. — TNS
