Two held with heroin

MOHALI:Sleuths of the Special Task Force, Mohali, have arrested two persons with 150 grams of heroin here.

Sleuths of the Special Task Force, Mohali, have arrested two persons with 150 grams of heroin here.

The suspects have been identified as Satnam Singh, a resident of Raipur Khurd village, Mohali, and Hasanpreet Singh from Chunni Khurd village, Bassi Pathana in Fatehgarh Sahib district.

According to Rajinder Singh Sohal, Superintendent of Police, STF, the suspects were nabbed at a naka near YPS Chowk here when they were coming from the Chandigarh side to Mohali to supply drugs to their regular customers.

SP Sohal said Satnam was working as a carpenter. “He confessed that he had started consuming heroin around six months ago after falling in bad company,” said SP Sohal.

A case under the NDPS Act has already been registered against Hasanpreet in Bikaner, Rajasthan, in 2013. “Hasanpreet is also a drug addict. He has been taking drugs since 2013. Now, the duo has started supplying drugs in the area,” said SP Sohal.
