Vij inspects work of gymnasium

AMBALA:Health, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij today reviewed the construction work of a gymnasium near Subhash Park in Ambala Cantonment.

Health, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij today reviewed the construction work of a gymnasium near Subhash Park in Ambala Cantonment.

Expressing indignation at the slow pace of work on development projects of the Municipal Corporation, including this gymnasium, the Minister asked the officials to expedite the work.

He asked the officials to blacklist the contractor if the work was being delayed purposely. He also warned the officials of strict action if any negligence comes to light.

He directed the officials to remove the wall and cover the remaining land near the gymnasium under the project so that people could do exercise and yoga in the open.

He said the land mafia had been keeping an eye on this land and it should be brought under construction and protected from such people.

He also expressed unhappiness over the slow pace of work in Subhash Park and said if the construction was not done as per the drawing, the payment of the agency would be stopped and it would also be blacklisted.

The Health Minister has also instructed the corporation officials to demolish old toilets and construct new modernised toilets at public places.
