Vikas, Ridhima bag best shooter titles in state meet

CHANDIGARH:Vikas Prasad and Ridhima Khindria were adjusted the best shooters in the men and women categories, respectively, on the concluding day of the 43rd Chandigarh State Shooting Championship at the Sector 25 shooting range.

Vikas Prasad and Ridhima Khindria were adjusted the best shooters in the men and women categories, respectively, on the concluding day of the 43rd Chandigarh State Shooting Championship at the Sector 25 shooting range.

In the individual category, Gagandeep Singh scored 587 points to claim the first position in the men's senior 10m air rifle event. Khush Dhawan (582 points) and Arjun Singh Chandel (577 points) claimed the second and third position, respectively. In the men's junior category, Dhawan claimed the top honour by scoring 582 points. Uday Pratap Singh Rana scored 568 points to win the silver medal. Dhawan also won the gold medal in the men's youth event.     

In the women's air rifle event, Desha Sandeep Jadhav claimed the top spot by scoring 590 points. Nina Chandel claimed the silver by scoring 583 points. 

In the men's air pistol event, Harkirat Singh Kherwal (543 points), Sikander Bansal (540 points) and Arjun Singh (538 points) won the top positions. 

In the men's junior air pistol event, Anirudh Jaggi (551 points), Sikander Bansal (540 points) and Nischay Jeet Singh (537 points) took the top-three spots.

In the women's category, Ridhima Khindria (561 points), Jasnoor Kaur (548 points) and Sukhmani Singh (543 points) emerged winners.   

Mukul finishes on top

Mukul scored 380 points to win the men's air rifle peep sight event. He was closely followed by Vikas Prasad (377 points) and Raghuvar Angrish (371 points).  In the men's junior category, Divyendu Sharma (371 points), Lakshay Garg (370 points) and Shauraya Singh Jamwal (300 points) took the top-three positions. In the youth category, Divyendu (371 points), Garg (370 points) and Someet Singh Sadiora (324 points) claimed the top-three medals.   

In the men's air pistol event, Pukhraj Singh shot the gold. Jaskaran Singh (365 points) and Amardeep (362 points) claimed the second and third position, respectively. 

In men's junior category, Pukhraj (370 points), Jaskaran (365 points) and Akashdeep (361 points) emerged winners. In the men's youth event, Jaskaran (365 points) hogged the limelight, while Akashdeep (361 points) and Jaskirat (354 points) bagged the second and third spot, respectively.
