Vivek High, GNPS cagers triumph

Vivek High School, Chandigarh, beat Guru Nanak Public School, Chandigarh, 50-35 to win the boys’ U-16 title on the concluding day of the 6th Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament at the Sector 42 Sports Complex, here, on Thursday. Mudit, with 16 points, was the top scorer for the winning side.

Arav’s 22-point effort helped Strawberry Fields School, Chandigarh, beat Vivek High School, Mohali, 55-35 in the third-place playoff.

In the girls’ U-16 final, Guru Nanak Public School (GNPS), Chandigarh, humbled Vivek High School, Chandigarh, 27-13. Anjali scored 14 points for Guru Nanak School.

Manav Mangal School, Mohali, overcame Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh, 31- 20 to claim the third position. Aranjot (12 points) was the top scorer for the winners.

Learning Paths School, Mohali, defeated Vivek High School, Chandigarh, 36-30 to win the boys’ U-14 title. Vedansh scored 15 points for Learning Paths School.

Aided by Tarushi’s 14 points, Vivek High School, Mohali, defeated Vivek High School, Chandigarh, 15-1 in the girls’ U-14 final.
