Ambala, February 22
The Ambala police have registered a case against some people, including two identified men, under Sections 379A (1), 379, 427 and 506 of the IPC on the complaint of a web portal operator on Friday.
In his complaint to the police, Gaurav Garg alleged that he had run a series of reports on his web channel against the accused over irregularities in the construction of a city centre in Ambala. Taking cognisance of his reports, State Health Minister Anil Vij has recommended a CBI inquiry into this matter. Following the reports, the accused had animosity against him.
Garg alleged that he was interviewing a Congress leader over this issue on the highway. Meanwhile, some unidentified people reached there, snatched his mobile phone and starting yelling “let’s shoot him”. Meanwhile, the Congress leader brought out his licensed .12-bore gun following which the accused fled away.
The complainant claimed that they chased the accused in the Congress leader’s car, but they managed to flee. When the complainant returned to take his car, which was parked near the motor market, he found that his laptop, camera and mike were missing and the window of the car was damaged.
