DERA BASSI:A 25-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her rented accommodation at Kuranwala village, Dera Bassi, here today.

A 25-year-old married woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her rented accommodation at Kuranwala village, Dera Bassi, here today. 

The deceased has been identified as Pinky, who hails from Odisha and was putting up at Kuranwala village along with her husband and a six-year-old child.

The incident came to light around noon when the victim’s child, who had gone to school, returned home and knocked at the main door, but did not get any response. The child informed a neighbour, who peeped through the ventilator and found the woman hanging. They informed the victim’s husband, who rushed back home from work and brought down the body. No suicide note was found. Pinky was depressed and was taking treatment. — OC
