An alleged contract killer — Rajender (34) — wanted in a murder case and carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head has been arrested by the STF Crime Branch.

According to DCP Ram Gopal Naik, he has been evading arrest since 2018 and had committed the crime when he was on bail in another murder case. Sometime ago, a man — Sanjay Chawla (47) — was stabbed by unknown persons in Malviya Nagar. Later on April 14, 2018, four accused — Manjot Singh, Dinesh Rjendar, Rohit Thakur and one Juvenile in Conflict with Law  (JCL) — were arrested, but Rajender, who had allegedly hired Dinesh and the JCL to murder Chawla was absconding.

On April 19, the police laid a trap near near Tuglakabad Fort on a tip-off and the accused was apprehended.

During interrogation, it has been revealed that Manjot Singh took a loan of Rs 52 lakhs from Chawla, but stopped paying the interest after a while and Chawla repeatedly insulted him. So, he decided to take the revenge and hatched the murder conspiracy with Rajender and Rohit Thakur and promised to them Rs 5 lakh, said the DCP.

Rajender  hired  Dinesh and one the JCL to murder Sanjay Chawla.
