New Delhi, April 20

A 45-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-borne men in outer Delhi’s Bawana area today.

The deceased has been identified as Narender, a resident of Bajitpur village. Earlier, he was wanted in two cases of robbery and lodged in jail for a sometime, said the police.

The incident took place late on Friday night when some unidentified motorcycle-borne men called out to Narender on the pretext of asking directions and then gave him a mobile phone to talk to someone, the police said.

Narender exchanged heated arguments with the caller and as soon as he disconnected the call, they opened fire at him and fled the spot. It is suspected that he was shot at five times.

Police reached the spot and took him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

The police said they were probing all angles, including personal enmity, behind the murder. — PTI
