Snakes rescued from JNU hostel, IIT-D

NEW DELHI: A cobra and a wolf snake were rescued from Mandavi Hostel in Jawaharlal Nehru University and Indian Institute of Technology–Delhi, respectively, by Wildlife SOS team here.

A cobra and a wolf snake were rescued from Mandavi Hostel in Jawaharlal Nehru University and Indian Institute of Technology–Delhi, respectively, by Wildlife SOS team here. Both reptiles are currently kept under observation and will soon be released back in to the wild.

The team was informed that the cobra was found inside the hostel, one of the residential student accommodations at campus, said Shwetabh Suman, a student.

Wasim Akram, Wildlife SOS manager (special projects) said: “Both snakes are currently under observation. We will be releasing them back in their natural habitat soon.”
