172 youth get appointment letters

JALANDHAR: Gearing up for providing jobs to the unemployed youth of district under the state government’s ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ scheme, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma distributed appointment letter to 172 such youth selected for jobs during a job fair held at the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Gearing up for providing jobs to the unemployed youth of district under the state government’s ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ scheme, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma distributed appointment letter to 172 such youth selected for jobs during a job fair held at the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology.

During the job fair organised by the Employment Generation Department, 385 applicants had applied for the jobs.

On the occasion three companies namely V Con Integrated Solutions, HDFC Life Insurance and Shri Ram Fortune selected 172 such applicants and offered them jobs in their companies. Around 26 applicants were selected by V Con Integrated Solutions, 55 by HDFC Life Insurance and 91 by the Shri Ram Fortune.

The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jitendra Jorwal handed over the appointment letters to 172 selected youths.

The Deputy Commissioner said it was a red-letter day of their life as they were going to start a new innings in their lives. He said it was just a beginning of the marvelous success story which all of them were going to script in the future. Sharma said Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s dream to provide job to every youth would be fulfilled soon.

The Deputy Commissioner said this job fair was just the beginning and many more such job fairs would be organised in the coming days to offer employment opportunities to the youth.

He said the district administration was already working on roping in key industrial units and leading entrepreneurs to provide job to the youth. Sharma said the ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ scheme of the Congress government was all set to transform the destiny of the youth of state by providing job opportunities to them.

Meanwhile, the ADC said the district administration had already started the process of providing employment to 8,900 such youths from the rural areas who would be provided jobs in the coming days.
