2 booked for hurting sentiments

Phagwara: On a complaint filed by Dharamvir Sethi, a resident of Bazar Bansanwala, the police have registered a case under Sections 295 and 134 of the IPC against Ajay, a resident of Mithapur,Vikas, a resident of Khurala Kingra village, and Pulkit, a resident of Jalandhar, on the charges of hurting religious sentiments.



Phagwara: On a complaint filed by Dharamvir Sethi, a resident of Bazar Bansanwala, the police have registered a case under Sections 295 and 134 of the IPC against Ajay, a resident of Mithapur,Vikas, a resident of Khurala Kingra village, and Pulkit, a resident of Jalandhar, on the charges of hurting religious sentiments. SHO Jatinderjit Singh said the accused removed a board of Lord Balmiki near Prempura Mohalla. He said two accused Ajay and Vikas had been arrested while the third is still at large. OC

PGs told to maintain record

Phagwara: The Superintendent of Police (SP), Phagwara, Mandeep Singh, held a meeting with paying guest owners here on Saturday. The SP advised them to install CCTV cameras on their premises and keep the record of students, who are staying at their paying guests and their visitors, in order to prevent criminal incidents at paying guest houses. SHOs of various police stations,including PCR and Saanjh Kendras, in charge Inspector Aman Sharma were present. OC

Mobile snatched from woman

Phagwara: One unidentified person snatched a mobile from Madhu, a resident of Chahal Nagar, on Friday here. She was on her way to bus stand. The miscreant managed to escape from the spot. The  police have registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC. OC

Bikes donated

Amritsar: TVS donated two bikes to the Golden Temple here on Saturday. Company’s area manager Pardeep Singh handed over the keys to SGPC secretary Manjit Singh Batth and Darbar Sahib manager Jaswinder Singh Deenpur. Pardeep said that the two bikes were gifted to express gratitude to the Almighty. TNS
